Your incredible efforts have helped us raise £1.2 million this year for Restless Development, supporting young people creating change in their communities across the world.

- To find out more about how the Schools Triathlon Series directly supports other amazing people creating change in their communities across the world
- Panel with our Young Gamechanger’s Fund Steering Group, one our most exciting and innovative projects. These young advocates for social change are leading on distributing a £4.5 million fund to projects led by young people across the UK
- The Young Gamechangers will then lead a workshop with the children helping them to imagine what causes matter to them and what projects they would run if they were applying for a Young Gamechangers grant
- Catered event with drinks reception and plentiful canapes
Here’s more about the evening’s programme:
- The event will begin with a drinks and canapés reception which will enable us to get everyone settled in and relaxed.
- Restless Development Co-CEO Alex Kent will then open the event and welcome attendees.
- The Restless Development triathlon team will give a brief overview of the success of the triathlon, recognising and calling out this year’s top fundraisers
- We will then have a panel presented by members of the Young Gamechangers Steering Group, setting out their exciting youth-led work, and why youth power is so important.
- The group will then be split into two, with the Young Gamechangers Steering Group leading a workshop for children. Older children will be led through workshops thinking through what causes matter to them, and what they would do if they had a Gamechangers grant. Meanwhile, we’ll have plenty to entertain younger children, and there will be plenty of opportunities for parents to talk with Restless Development staff about our work.

More about our Young Gamechanger Programme
We’re proud and excited to be part of The Young Gamechangers Fund which funds youth activism in a new way, placing young people at the heart of decision making. This £4.5 million grant was established by The Co-op Foundation, The Co-Op and #IWill with Restless Development and Global Fund for Children as delivery partners. Crucially, young people decide which projects to fund. The fund was designed to support youth-led initiatives in the UK and is open to young people aged 10-25, both individuals and youth-led organisations.
Each member of the fund’s Steering Group is a young advocate for social change aged 18-25. The Steering Group helped develop every aspect of the Young Gamechangers Fund, from the design of the application process, deciding priority areas to fund, to deciding which projects to fund. Funds have just been allocated for the first round of funding for projects across the UK.
Being able to successfully shift power to young people in this way as both the grant funders and project-managers, is a new and innovative way to do things. The Young Gamechangers Fund will act as a blueprint for further youth-powered funds and is already helping Restless Development design similar programmes in Africa and Asia.
