CO-CREATE – Climate Action Partnership for Education (CAPE), an innovative initiative aimed at transforming education and advancing climate action in Tanzania. CO-CREATE, which stands for Collaborative Opportunities for Climate Resilience, Empowerment, and Transformation through Education, is a pioneering consortium supported by USAID and FCDO.
At its core, CO-CREATE seeks to develop and implement a scalable model that integrates climate action solutions into educational frameworks, enhancing quality education and fostering youth development. By leveraging the expertise of 12 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across Lindi and Dar es Salaam, CO-CREATE supports educators and learners to innovate and showcase effective pedagogical approaches.
Through strategic partnerships with institutions like Restless Development, Aga Khan Foundation, Creative Action Institute, and Belmont University, CO-CREATE combines research, youth-led initiatives, and gender-responsive education to achieve its ambitious goals. Over the project’s timeline from October 2023 to September 2025, CO-CREATE aims to impact 50,000 girls and boys across 102 learning sites, improving educational outcomes and promoting gender equality.
Our approach, anchored in the Schools2030 model and Human-Centered Design, ensures that CO-CREATE not only generates new evidence but also influences global dialogue on climate-smart education systems. By fostering local and national policy dialogues and hosting forums, CO-CREATE aims to catalyze transformative change in educational ecosystems, paving the way for a sustainable future.
We are co-creating solutions that supports educators, inspire learners, and drive impactful climate action across Tanzania and beyond. Together, we can build a resilient and inclusive educational landscape for generations to come.
