Shared learning to unleash Youth Power.
Youth Take The Lead was a project that developed young leadership in youth from Nepal, South Africa, and Tanzania by building leadership through collaboration. The project aimed to unleash the power to create a positive impact in their respective communities. It was a 6-month exchange program that began in 2019 and was implemented in partnership with the Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (NOREC).
Youth Take the Lead volunteers were able to reach 1,092 young people through their programs.

Sharpening Youth leadership skills.
Youth Take the Lead (YTL) promoted meaningful youth engagement practices in CSOs and youth leadership among stakeholders in Nepal, Tanzania, and South Africa (2019-2020). YTL also executed effective mobilization of alumni for the implementation of advocacy initiatives.
Achievements.
Through the Youth Take the Lead project (2021-2022), the volunteers executed four different National Dialogues and two Global Dialogues. These dialogues were organized on topics like Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, Mental Health, Global Citizenship, and Youth Unemployment, among others. As the volunteers were provided with training and tools, they continued advocating beyond the NOREC project. Hence, the project had a wide reach and effect.
Apart from that, volunteers carried out youth consultations on the Global Citizenship Toolkit (Tanzania and Nepal). They provided training to CSOs on organizational development, training to young people on leadership and organizational development, delivered meaningful youth engagement training to CSOs, and carried out a Finance and Admin policy session where young people participated and enhanced their skills.
The Youth Take the Lead volunteers also organized a three-day training to capacitate six youth-led CSOs based on the capacity gaps identified through a CSO assessment. The CSOs were trained on organizational development, strategic planning, M&E framework, fundraising, and partnership.
This program was active from 2011 to 2021. The program’s major emphasis was conducting schools’ sessions about the Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, livelihood and extracurricular activities. The students were also enhanced through the formation of the child clubs as well
