Restless Development is hugely proud of the support we have provided to the Youth Stop AIDS Campaign over the years, and everything that has been achieved by so many activists leading the fight to end HIV and AIDS.
After extensive conversations with our partner STOPAIDS, and internal reflection, we have recently taken the decision to step back from our long-standing role running the campaign, which has now transitioned over to STOPAIDS. As we increasingly focus our efforts on strengthening wider youth civil society and supporting the collective power of young leaders across the world, we feel that the time is right to make this transition.
We are sure Youth Stop AIDS will continue to thrive and fight to end new HIV infections, HIV-related stigma and discrimination and AIDS related deaths. We will continue to champion and support the campaign as part of the global Youth Collective.
Youth Stop AIDS has been the starting point for so many incredible young campaigners who have gone on to change the world. By speaking out, taking action and engaging those in power, these young people have made a real difference to the AIDS response over the years. They have pushed the UK government to make record contributions to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; championed the creation of the Medicine Patent Pool to deliver HIV drugs to the millions who need them; and tackled stigma and discrimination by giving a platform to young people affected by HIV and AIDS to share their stories with others through the Speaker Tour.
Youth Stop AIDS will always be an important part of our history, and we continue to stand with the young leaders campaigning for a world without AIDS.
