A youth-led research on re-entered girls experiences and challenges

The study therefore sought to investigate the challenges that the learners face when they are readmitted into school. The study also sought to find out first hand from the learners about their experiences once they are readmitted as well as the mechanisms that the schools have put in place to ensure that these learners are fully supported when they return to school.

The research was aimed at investigating the causes of child marriages/ pregnancies in Bindura District, Zimbabwe. The study objectives focused on the causes of child marriages, determine the availability of Sexual Reproductive Health services and to establish strategies that can be used to address the issues of child marriages/ pregnancies.

Investigation into the accessibility of sexual reproductive health services among young people during COVID-19.

This report is a call to action for all stakeholders to change their concept of youth programming and to invest in approaches that involve young people throughout the process. The youth-led research that we conducted is a clear example of how you can effectively engage young people from start to finish on a project and attain remarkable results. This report presents the findings of a youth-led research study conducted by Restless Development in three districts of Eastern Province, Zambia- Mambwe, Chadiza, and Kasenengwa. Our original research seeks to break the silence on young people’s experiences of menstrual health and injustice during the pandemic. This report outlines our research methodology and respondent demographics, and then analyses young people’s experiences with existing healthcare products and providers, emerging trends in new healthcare, and the impact of inequitable menstrual health management during the pandemic.

Youth Leadership, Partnership and Accountability

Recent global frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals and Family Planning 2020 promise to achieve universal access to sexual and reproductive health , including for family planning, as well as and education on gender equality, including elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls and harmful practices, such as child marriage and female genital mutilation.
