GreenShift Nepal is a four-year, EU-funded project dedicated to promoting a just transition to a circular economy. Now in its second year, the project is being implemented across 9 municipalities in Bagmati, Madhesh, and Lumbini provinces of Nepal, with the goal of reducing plastic waste and achieving net-zero carbon emissions. The project is a collaborative effort between CREASION, Restless Development Nepal, and Youth Innovation Lab (YI-LAB).
Restless Development leads two key components of the project:
Climate Smart Schools (CSS): Integrating climate change education and sustainable practices into school curriculums.
Youth Advocacy Groups: Supporting youth-led environmental projects through grants and training, with a focus on innovative solutions like plastic waste reduction.
As we conclude the first year of the GreenShift project, we are excited to share the significant milestones and achievements reached through GreenShift Nepal so far.
