The 2024 Fair Share monitor results have been announced and Restless Development is ranked No.4 out of 95 Organisations!
The Fair Share Monitor was founded on the premise that making disparities transparent is the first step to advocate for gender equity. Since its inception in 2019, FAIR SHARE annually measures the representation of women in leadership in the largest and most well-known international organisations through the FAIR SHARE Monitor. Since then, FAIR SHARE has evolved into an organisation that not only advocates for gender equity in the social impact sector, but also pushes for a feminist leadership and diverse representation of women in leadership.
In 2023, Restless Development was rated 19th (out of 76 organisations) with a FAIR SHARE index of 6.93. This average FAIR SHARE index for 2023 was 20.4 – this index identifies the disparity between the percentage of women employed in the sector and the percentage of women who hold leadership positions, and since 2021 has incorporated more intersectional approaches by including race, and from this year, gender identity in the monitor.
This year, as a result of our ongoing commitments to Power Shifting, Restless Development has been ranked 4th out of 95 organisations, with an index of 1.17 (against an average of 19.92). This is a huge cause for celebration and something we should all be very proud of and shouting about when talking about power shifting being at the heart of everything we do!
Gender Equality is currently under pressure from all sides globally. Women and girls everywhere are facing a roll back on their bodily autonomy, reproductive and political rights. Now more than ever, we need to reaffirm gender equality, diversity and equity in our leadership structures.
