The Digital Health and Rights Project (DHRP) Consortium brings together international social scientists, human rights lawyers, health advocates, and networks of people living with HIV to conduct research and advocate for rights-based digital governance in Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, Vietnam and globally.
Funded by Botnar (opens in a new tab), the project is implemented by Restless Development in partnership with Global Network of People living with HIV (GNP+) (opens in a new tab), Kenya Legal and Ethical Issues Network on HIV and AIDS (KELIN) (opens in a new tab), Privacy International (opens in a new tab), STOPAIDS (opens in a new tab), Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) (opens in a new tab) and University of Warwick (opens in a new tab) .
The project engages young people, community leaders, civil society organisations, health service providers, government institutions, and technology partners to create more inclusive, accessible, and youth-responsive digital health ecosystems.The project uses a transnational participatory action research approach, centring the voices and leadership of diverse young adults to define the future of human rights in the digital age.
The project aims to:
- Increase young people’s access to accurate, inclusive, and rights-based digital health information and services.
- Build young people’s digital literacy, leadership, and advocacy skills.
- Strengthen collaboration between young people, health systems, and policymakers to improve digital health governance.
- Support youth-led campaigns that promote health, rights, and responsible digital engagement.
- Generate evidence and amplify youth voices to influence policies and programmes that improve digital health outcomes.
