Restless Development Participates in “Bringing Generations Together for Climate Action” Webinar

Learning from Intergenerational Dialogue

Sangita Maharjan, Programme Manager at Restless Development Nepal, represented Restless Development Nepal in a dynamic conversation with colleagues from HelpAge International, Restless Development Uganda, and Newcastle University’s Oral History Unit. The discussion that took place on April 25, 2024, focused on learnings from a pilot initiative titled “Responding to Climate Change: An Intergenerational Approach.” This collaborative project, implemented in communities severely impacted by climate change, aimed to bridge the gap between generations.

The webinar highlighted the importance of including young people’s voices in decision-making and leveraging the knowledge of older generations to build climate resilience. In addition to the discussion, the webinar showcased a short video featuring messages from participants in the pilot initiative. It also introduced the intergenerational guide developed by HelpAge and Restless Development, which served as a resource for the project.
