Youth Take the Lead Learning Document

A review of the lessons learnt from the ‘Youth Take the Lead’ programme, written by its participants.

Youth Take the Lead is a six month exchange project led by Restless Development in partnership with the Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (NOREC). It focuses on enhancing youth leadership across three Restless Development Hubs: Nepal, Tanzania and South Africa.

It is a once in a lifetime opportunity where you will meet new people, explore new culture and shape your career as well. One should definitely go for it.

Over the course of two years, YTL has had some fantastic achievements. For example, In Tanzania, over 17 CSOs have been assessed, culminating in two sets of recommendations. Homecoming volunteers have also trained almost 200 young Tanzanians in youth leadership, advocacy and rights.

YTL Learning Document

Since 2019, 12 young people from Tanzania, South Africa and Nepal have participated in ‘Youth Take the Lead’. Working with stakeholders, global partners and communities YTL participants have empowered 710 youths across the world. This year, because of the pandemic, they compiled their experiences into a learning document.
