Resourcing Youth-Led Groups and Movements
The Youth Collective members report time and again that the main need of youth-led organisations is funding. It is mainly the passion, creativity and power of its volunteers that keep them moving.
On Tuesday 30th March we held this workshop with 20 Youth Collective members from 10 countries around the world. Led by CIVICUS, we used our minds, hearts and hands to reflect on how we, as young activists, want to keep sustaining this passion and commitment towards a more sustainable, equal and kind society.
What I found inspiring about today’s event was getting to look in depth on how we use money in our organisation, and the sustainability arm. It was really mind blowing.
Enow, Youth Collective member from Cameroon.
The event included sharing and exploring stories from other young leaders, musical activism, artistic interpretation, networking and idea exchange. We discussed and found common approaches that could be shared, as well as taking the space to step back and evaluate our organisations’ resourcing strategies.
Because of this event I’ll be able to train my team so that they can get benefit from the skills and experience I have attained from here and how to use creative and innovative approaches to implement activities.

The most inspiring part was the networking. I found it very important meeting new people and sharing ideas.
