YCA Wales is a fully youth-led organisation dedicated to empowering young people in Wales and beyond to take meaningful climate action. The group operates democratically, with Ambassadors making all key decisions and holding roles such as Chair and Events Coordinator through an inclusive voting process. They meet regularly to plan initiatives, influence policy, and amplify the voices of marginalised young people in climate discussions. Recognising the interconnectedness of climate and social justice, YCA Wales provides platforms for underrepresented groups to share their concerns, engages with politicians to drive systemic change, and supports youth-led activism, including climate strikes and media advocacy.
YGF funding enables YCA Wales to expand its impact by amplifying youth voices, reducing climate anxiety, and increasing engagement with Welsh policymakers. It would also support their ongoing work in highlighting the struggles of Climate Refugees and Indigenous Peoples, ensuring that climate justice remains at the forefront of decision-making. By fostering youth leadership in climate action, YCA Wales aims to create a fairer, more sustainable future for young people today and for generations to come.
