Restless Development is an agency for youth-led development. Through 10 Hubs globally, our work is delivered by young people, for young people, giving them the skills and resources to deal with the main issues facing their communities and countries. Tackling unemployment and sexual rights, and supporting young people to have a voice and leadership at the heart of development challenges, Restless Development programmes are genuinely life-changing.
But it isn’t just our work on the ground that makes us special. There are 1.8 billion young people in the world. They will provide not just the leaders of tomorrow but the energy to bring change today. Through our policy work targeting decision makers on a global level, we are ensuring that young people’s voices are being heard not only in their local communities but right the way up to world leaders. Together, Restless Development and millions of young people are delivering development, influencing decision makers and collecting evidence to inform partners in order for us to further our work towards a just and sustainable world.
Restless Development is launching our new global strategy on International Youth Day 2016. We will collaborate with partners and governments who share our vision for young people to be at the forefront of achieving a just and sustainable world for all. We are recruiting a UK Director to lead our UK Hub to deliver our new strategy both in the UK and in support to the global agency.
The position will oversee a dynamic and talented team of about 30 staff currently forming four teams (communications, policy & practice, campaigns and a pre-departure team for the International Citizen Service - ICS). The UK Director will lead a change-management process, required in all Restless Development’s Hubs, to enable the achievement of the new global strategy.
The role has a varied portfolio ranging from overseeing communication and advocacy strategies, to programme design and delivery. Strong inclusive leadership skills are a must as you will drive forward this ambitious high-delivery team and work for Restless Development.
Restless Development is an equal opportunities employer and all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Please submit a complete application form by Midnight UK time on Sunday 21st August 2016 to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that CVs will not be accepted.
