Restless Development is an agency for youth-led development. Through 10 Hubs globally, our work is delivered by young people, for young people, giving them the skills and resources to deal with the main issues facing their communities and countries.

When Sierra Leone detected its first case of Ebola, Restless Development quickly recognised that the unique reach of our volunteer network could be turned into a powerful tool for working with communities to stop transmission. Having worked in Sierra Leone for over a decade, we had already trained 2,000 young Sierra Leoneans as social mobilisers and many of them wanted to help. By the end of 2015, more than 2,400 young volunteers had reached almost 1.9 million people across Sierra Leone, educating community leaders and encouraging safe burial and fast reporting of Ebola cases. This unique youth-led social mobilisation programme encouraged communities to take a leadership role in reducing Ebola transmission and has been a significant factor in stopping the deadly spread of the disease.

Sierra Leone is now well on the path to staying Ebola-free, but still has a long way to go on the road to recovery. Our young volunteers continue to be there for their country, providing support and development through our long-standing programmes to establish livelihoods and to educate and empower people about their sexual and reproductive health.

Our people remain at the core of our work, passion and unique identity – we want to be the leading place to work for young professionals in the development sector. The remit of the HR Officer will be broad and provide excellent opportunities for professional growth. Working closely with the HR Coordinator, you will receive on the job support and development, and be part of a brand new values-led team. The role is well-suited to someone looking for an entry-level role, with an interest in people and organisational development.

Please send your completed application form to by the closing date, 5:30 pm on Friday 3rd March 2017. Please note that we do not accept CVs, resumes or covering letters.
