Restless Development is launching a month of celebrations to mark the impact made by young volunteers around the world.
For decades, young people from different countries have been working together across borders to create lasting change.
Because of an increase in international volunteering opportunities, like ICS, young people have become leaders around the world, creating lasting solutions to the causes they are supporting.
Restless Development has worked with thousands of young people to have impact in their communities and overseas in recent years. To mark these volunteers’ achievements, we are holding a four week-long celebration across our website, blog and social media platforms.
The impact of a young volunteer spans generations. They are leaders of today and tomorrow, so what they do shapes the way issues are addressed for years to come.
Have you volunteered overseas? Do you have a story you want to tell? Join the conversation using #WeAreRestless and #ICS4Change, or send your photos, videos and writings to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ciaran Sneddon, Outreach and Marketing Officer at Restless Development - who completed ICS in 2015 - said: “We can’t wait to share all the amazing impact created by our network of active citizens, many of whom have been inspired to make change through volunteering programmes like ICS.
“Over the next month, we will be celebrating successes big and small, that have improved communities both here in the UK and around the world.
“These stories will highlight just how much difference young people standing together can make. We can’t wait to see what these volunteers, and others like them, will achieve in the months and years ahead.”
