Our team in Zambia met with the Parliamentary Committee on Labour, Youth and Sport to promote youth entrepreneurship in Zambia.
The team presented to a group of 5 Members of Parliament.
The emphasis was to bring to the attention of national decision-makers that for any successful nationwide promotion of youth entrepreneurship, a clear focus must be upon providing access to pre-professional skills for all young people, in particular financial literacy training. Furthermore, knowledge and wider awareness of national policy that affects young people, and involving young people in community and local government decision-making forums is crucial for success.
The responses from the committee will be compiled and later submitted to Parliament for action. As an agency, Restless Development will continue to respond to calls by parliament on youth issues to make sure young people are being heard.
