WigLe Dance is a values-driven organization deeply rooted in its community, using dance and creativity to inspire young people. With YGF funding, WigLe aim to strengthen youth leadership, ensuring WigLe remains youth-led long-term. By developing transferable skills and leadership methodologies, WigLe will create a cycle where young people mentor the next generation.

WigLe will use the funding to start the ‘Look Up Leigh’ project that will empower the next generation of local leaders and creatives. A key goal is to secure two youth representatives on the Leigh Town Board, ensuring young voices influence the town’s £20 million regeneration plan. WigLe will advocate for cultural programs, safer public spaces, and improved access to creative activities, shaping a town that truly supports its young people.

Beyond influencing decision-making, WigLe aim to change adult perceptions of young people, shifting the narrative from negative stereotypes to celebrating youth-driven positive change. By increasing visibility for creativity in Leigh, they will inspire more young people to join the growing cultural movement, creating a lasting impact on our town’s future.
