Contract Length: 1 year

Restless Development is the national banner carrier for youth-led development. We’ve been in Tanzania since 1993, growing, changing and responding to the most urgent issues facing young Tanzanians.

The Young Reporters Network (YRN) falls under the Mabinti Tushike Hatamu(MTH) project delivered in partnership with UNICEF and Tanzania AIDS Commission, and implemented in Mbeya, Iringa and Temeke. MTH aims to test, evaluate and share strategies for reducing the vulnerability of adolescent out-of-school females aged 10-19 to HIV and AIDS, pregnancy and violence.

Working alongside the MTH project teams, you will oversee implementation of YRN initiatives in Mbeya and Iringa, which will focus on teaching new skills in radio reporting, writing, editing and production of children’s programmes and mediated radio products; provide young girl reporters with basic journalism skills; and increase active participation of children and young people in the production of children’s programmes in the districts.

You will be a highly creative individual with a passion for working with vulnerable women and girls. You will have a background in media work, and training and coaching marginalized groups as activists.

Are you an ambitious, self-driven, experienced young professional who is ready to be challenged? Are you ready to push yourself and maximize your potential? If so, Restless Development Tanzania is looking for YOU!
