UK - Events and Communications Officer
(Global Policy & Practice Team)

Length of Contract & Conditions: Fixed term contract until the end of December 2015
Salary: £18,736 (gross) pro rata the duration of the contract (5 months)

Alongside Restless Development’s programmatic work in Africa and Asia, Restless Development’s Global Policy and Practice Unit (GPP) is working with young people in the Global North, international decision makers and youth-led and youth-focused organisations worldwide to help achieve our global goals.

This is an exciting, short-term opportunity for a talented young professional to work alongside our dynamic team in a fast-growing, youth-led development agency at an exceptionally busy time. Working closely with the GPP team, the Events and Communications Officer will lead the planning, logistics and administration for an exciting range of cross-team events and, with support from the Marketing and Communications teams, the internal and external communications to promote these events.

In the coming months, the Events and Communications Officer will work on the following events: a 5-day training workshop for 20 young Accountability Advocates from across Africa and the UK, to be held in Accra, Ghana in mid-August; supporting members of the GPP team and youth delegates to participate in the UN General Assembly in New York in mid-September; a number of high-profile London-based events relating to our research and advocacy project, the Case for Space, scheduled for September, October and November; and a capacity building workshop for youth-led community-based organisations from across Africa, to take place in Kenya in October.
