Restless Development Uganda is the leading, youth-led development agency in Uganda. Our mission is to place young people at the forefront of change and development. We have supported youth-led programming in Uganda for over 15 years. Our focus areas are youth civic participation, youth livelihoods and youth sexual and reproductive health. We are currently supporting youth-led interventions in each of these areas across Uganda.
The Youth Internship Programme aims to prepare youth to work, lead, and contribute to broader development efforts. It offers short-term employability skills training to graduates from higher institutions of learning and provides them with support to undertake six month internships with companies and institutions from private sector, Non-Governmental Organizations and Government institutions.
The consultant will conduct an assessment of the costs and benefits of structured internship models. This will entail both employers’ and interns’ perspectives on how the internship programmes influence their businesses and career growth respectively.
The product of the consultancy - the business case - will be used to support the adaptation and institutionalization of internship programmes in government, NGOs, and private sector entities.
