“When young people are given enough capacity, support and trust, they are an unstoppable force for positive change.” Primrose Manyalo, Zimbabwe
We are living in a time of Peak Youth. Never before and never again will there be such a large generation of young people ready and able to deliver change in their communities. These young people will provide not just the leaders of tomorrow but the energy to bring change today.
Restless Development has recently launched an ambitious new Global Strategy. Responding to the Priorities of young people with a Model for transformative change, our strategy will pioneer both a new type of decentralised Agency locally driven, globally connected and responding to young people and a Youth Collective allowing thousands of local groups & organisations and millions of young people to lead change.
Cutting-edge, values-led and dynamic in our culture, we work out of ten global hubs to offer expertise, support and innovation for youth and partners around the globe. We are Restless. We are unleashing the power of youth to change our world. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual with plenty of potential to succeed in a global agency focussed on empowering young people to lead change and development.
This role sits within Restless Development’s Programme Funding Team (PFT) which sits within the International Programmes Unit. The PFT is comprised of one other Programme Funding Manager and a Senior Partnerships Manager. Each Programme Funding Manager is the focal point for all institutional fundraising support requests for five country hubs as well as oversight of 5-10 of our top global donor relationships. Both hub and donor portfolio could change over the year depending on agency needs and priorities. The PFT is responsible for supporting country hubs and global units to fundraise from institutional donors, providing fundraising support to country hubs, and ensuring high quality stewardship of donor relationships. Most funds raised within Restless Development come via country hubs, with coordination and strategic support from the PFT. Major institutional donors include DfID, SIDA, UN agencies and medium to large Trusts & Foundations such as Comic Relief and Big Lottery Fund. You will be responsible for fundraising from institutions, via targeted prospecting, high quality proposal development and reporting, coordinating inputs across international departments and country teams to secure strategic fundraising. This role would focus primarily on our country hubs as well as support on global opportunities. This role would suit somebody looking to contribute to building a new team and shaping a new team strategy.
Restless Development International has three priorities:
● To deliver the strategy through our programmes and the Youth Collective
● To ensure we are a high performing agency through our people and performance
● to ensure that we adhere to a financially sustainable business model
This role will directly contribute to the achievement of all of these priorities by ensuring that all funding proposals contribute to the achievement of our strategic vision by embedding the Restless Model and the Youth Collective in programme designs and that all donor budgets ensure the financial sustainability of our agency by adhering to Business Development Principles. As an active and key member of the Programme Funding Team and the International Programmes Unit, this role will also contribute to a high performing agency by contributing to the achievement of strategic team goals.
Please send a completed application form to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 6th November 2017. Please note that we do not accept CVs, resumes or covering letters.
