"When young people are given enough capacity, support and trust, they are an unstoppable force for positive change.”

Primrose Manyalo, Zimbabwe

We are living in a time of Peak Youth. Never before and never again will there be such a large generation of young people ready and able to deliver change in their communities. While much has been said about the threat of this largest youth generation in history, the truth is that the peak youth generation is more educated, tech-savvy, connected and involved than ever in history. They will provide not just the leaders of tomorrow but the energy to bring change today.

Restless Development has recently launched an ambitious new Global Strategy. Responding to the Priorities of young people with a Model for transformative change, our strategy will pioneer both a new type of decentralised Agency locally driven, globally connected and responding to young people and a Youth Collective allowing thousands of local groups & organisations and millions of young people to lead change.

Cutting-edge, values-led and dynamic in our culture, we work out of ten global hubs to offer expertise, support and innovation for youth and partners around the globe.

We are Restless. We are unleashing the power of youth to change our world.

We are looking for a dedicated Africa Programme Funding manager to work within Restless Development’s Programme Funding Team (PFT). You will be responsible for supporting country hubs and global units to fundraise from institutional donors, providing fundraising capacity building support to country hubs, and ensuring high quality stewardship of donor relationships. Most funds raised within Restless Development come via country hubs, with coordination and strategic support from the PFT. Major institutional donors include DfID, SIDA, Comic Relief, Big Lottery Fund, SIDA, as well as UN agencies.

You will be responsible for fundraising from institutions, via targeted prospecting, high quality proposal development and reporting, coordinating inputs across international departments and country teams to secure strategic fundraising. PFT remit is divided geographically, so this role would focus primarily on our six country hubs in Africa, with scope to support on global opportunities. You will play a role in transitioning the PFT into Restless Development’s International Programmes Unit. This role would suit somebody looking to contribute to shaping a new team, helping to review and improve systems, and to gain management experience.

Please send a completed application form to by 5pm on Tuesday 18th April 2017. Please note that we do not accept CVs, resumes or covering letters.
