“When young people are given enough capacity, support and trust, they are an unstoppable force for positive change.”
Primrose Manyalo, Zimbabwe
We are living in a time of Peak Youth. Never before and never again will there be such a large generation of young people ready and able to deliver change in their communities. While much has been said about the threat of this largest youth generation in history, the truth is that the peak youth generation is more educated, tech-savvy, connected and involved than ever in history. They will provide not just the leaders of tomorrow but the energy to bring change today.
Cutting-edge, values-led and dynamic in our culture, Restless Development works out of ten global hubs to offer expertise, support and innovation for youth and partners around the globe.
We are Restless. We are unleashing the power of youth to change our world.
As part of a VSO-led consortium, Restless Development is delivering the DFID-funded International Citizen Service (ICS) programme. ICS is a development programme that brings together young people from the UK and developing countries to volunteer in some of the poorest communities in Africa and Asia. Through ICS, young people will have positive development impact in host communities, develop personally, and become life-long active citizens.
Every year Restless Development assesses over 600 young people from the UK to work alongside national volunteers in 7 of our country programmes in Africa and South Asia.
You will be working with a team of Selectors who, with the support of a member of staff from Restless Development, will inspire volunteers at the very start of their ICS Volunteer Journey through informative, engaging and interactive assessment days.
Selectors will assess the suitability of candidates through structured one-to-one interviews and through observing group activities. Group activities take the form of a practical task, scenario tasks, and presentation and role play tasks for Team Leaders.
Please download the ICS Selector job description for more detailed information on this exciting role. Please send your completed application form to email@example.com by the closing date, midnight on Thursday 6 July 2017. Please note that we do not accept CVs and cover letters.
