Restless Development is commissioning an evaluation to assess the outcomes of the Accountability Advocates Pilot Programme and to assess the effectiveness of the Accountability Advocates Model.
The Accountability Advocates Model was developed in the run up and in response to the commitment made by Heads of State and Government of “accountability to our citizens” in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) last September. The launch of the SDGs provides a generational opportunity for young people to become leaders in decision making, and to take part in the design, implementation and monitoring of the development framework that will directly affect their lives. Participatory monitoring and accountability are key components in ensuring sustainable development programmes and policies work for everyone, with no one left behind. A participatory approach to monitoring and review, ensures a framework where all people including youth can have ownership of development goals and targets - with those living in poverty shaping their own futures and driving their own development. We believe that if young people are equipped and empowered with the skills to use, analyse and generate data on key issues that affect their lives, they will take the lead in exercising accountability over their governments. This is why the Accountability Advocates programme supports young people to understand and generate data to create their own youth-led monitoring and accountability frameworks for the SDGs.
The project will be coming to a close in June 2016 and we are seeking a consultant to conduct the Final Evaluation, please see the Terms of Reference for more detail
The closing date for this position is 5.00pm on Friday 24th June 2016. Please send a cover letter and a brief to Jessica Weir at firstname.lastname@example.org.
