Restless Development with funding from Plan International Uganda is implementing a gender and advocacy programme (the Girls Advocacy Alliance Project) in the districts of Kamuli, Buyende, Tororo, Bukedia, Lira and Alebtong. The focus of this project is to address economic exclusion for girls (10-19 years) and young women (20-24 years) to ensure that girls and young women have increased access to and engage in safe and gainful economic initiatives.
Restless Development intends to recruit a five-member Gender Advocacy Team (GAT) to support the implementation of the project at national level. This team will go through a foundation training that will empower them with skills and knowledge to work as gender and policy advocates. They will then conduct gender and policy research at national level to inform national policy analysis and policy advocacy. National GAT members must be 18-24 years old open minded, enthusiastic and highly committed gender advocates with an interest in analyzing policy issues. This is a part time role and successful candidate will be working closely with Restless Development Staff and GAT members at district level. Interested candidates for this post will be expected to be available from November 2016 to June 2017.
If interested, please complete the attached application form, and submit it to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 18th November 2016. Successful applicants will be contacted by telephone and email.
