Expression of Interest: Training Materials Design

Closing date for submission: 14th September 2017

Restless Development is part of a consortium implementing Driving Youth-led New Agribusiness and
Microenterprises (DYNAMIC). This is a youth focused agribusiness and livelihood program for out-of-school
youth in Northern Uganda and Karamoja sub region. Other members of the consortium are GOAL, Mercy
Corps and VSO.

DYNAMIC program is being undertaken in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation as part of the Youth
Forward Initiative. DYNAMIC seeks to ensure that out-of-school and economically disadvantaged young
people have the skills, capabilities and support systems they require to seek and secure entry-level jobs ;
or start/strengthen their own businesses along agricultural value chains.

DYNAMIC aims to reach more than 125,000 out-of-school young people between the ages of 15-24 living
in the nine districts of Abim, Kaabong, Agago, Pader, Kitgum, Lamwo, Gulu, Omoro and Lira.

In the consortium, Restless Development is responsible for providing technical support on youth
engagement and life skills. It is also leading in the development of curriculum for Business skills, financial
literacy and VSLA methodology to be used for training youth participants of the program. The curriculum
has been developed and piloted but it lacks learning aids in form of charts that facilitators can use when
conducting their sessions.

We are looking for an Information, Education and Communications (IEC) Materials design and development
company to design 3 Learning Materials on Life Skills, Group Dynamics and Business Skills for non-formal
skills training for out of school youth in Northern Uganda. These materials will be used by community based
Volunteer Peer Educators to deliver training sessions to out of school youth in the programme area.

Scope of work
The work to be performed includes:
1. Designing the 3 Facilitator’s Guides and 3 Manuals and include any relevant visuals or pictures to
improve user-friendliness by the Facilitators and Learners.
2. Developing Flip Charts (from Grain Sacks) and Spiral Bound Table Flip-over Booklets that summarize
the information in each of the Guides and Manuals.
