Spotlight on action/2015

2015 has been a momentous year of progress in the fight to end poverty, inequality and climate change - and we couldn’t have done it without you.

This year Restless Development joined the global movement action/2015, campaigning with you throughout the year for world leaders to make ambitious decisions to end poverty, inequality and climate change. Together we took action around key global moments to raise awareness of the new Global Goals, call for bold climate action and to show world leaders that now is the time for change.

Here are some of our top action/2015 highlights from this impactful year!

In January you launched action/2015 with stunts around London, followed by meetings with your MPs in May. You also formed the action/2015 UK Youth Panel, a group of young campaigners passionate about ending poverty, inequality and climate change, who kicked off their campaigning with the the #30Days30Voices blog.

In August you showed the world your #YouthPower on International Youth Day, leading an action/2015 Youth hackathon at the Google Campus that reached over 36 million people online.

In September you stood in solidarity with action/2015 campaigners around the world, and lit the way for the new Global Goals. In London many of you joined action/2015 as we lit up the Millennium Bridge - a spectacular sight!

And in December you joined thousands of others at the Climate March in London, marching with the eye-catching signs you created at our Hot and Bothered event in the morning. Meanwhile five Restless Development youth delegates attended to the Climate Talks in Paris, leading workshops for other young campaigners about linking climate change and the Global Goals.

So as the year and the campaign come to an end, we want to say a massive thank you for all your passion and commitment which made action/2015 such a huge success. From meeting your MP to blogging about climate, marching in London to taking action online, you helped ensure world leaders made ambitious decisions that will create a fairer future for people and planet.

As the year draws to a close, so does action/2015. But this isn’t the end - we’re already gearing up for 2016 and getting ready to show the world what Youth Power can achieve. Are you ready?
