Restless Development Zambia has been implementing Act! 2015 activities since 2014, while engaging with more than 14 youth serving and youth targeting organizations together with government line ministries and UN agencies.
This year in 2015 one of the activities planned was a National Youth Dialogue on Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV where young people were drawn from different parts of the country to dialogue on minding the gap between the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with government officials from the Ministry of Community Development Mother and Child Health as well as the Ministry of Youth and Sport. This meeting resulted in young people submitting two issues that the ministries stated above should commit to in line with SDG 3, which is aimed at ensuring healthy lives and promotion of wellbeing for all at all ages:
1. Capacity building and access to SRH and HIV information for young people
2. Adequate financing for health and accountability
These two commitments were assented to by the Ministry of Community Development Mother and Child Health on 1st October, 2015. People who witnessed the signing were two young, Marie Stopes representing the Act! 2015 alliance in Zambia and Restless Development signing on behalf of the alliance.
