Stop AIDS National Gathering in Edingburgh

30 Oct 13
UK

Come to Edinburgh for the event of the year:

Stop AIDS National Gathering, 2-3 November 2013

  • Join our movement of young people and learn how to use activism and advocacy to play your part in bringing an end to AIDS
  • Learn about global issues, get skilled up and informed about HIV
  • Be inspired by our speakers and share creative ideas in our informal workshops

The weekend is always one of the highlights of the Stop AIDS year, and brings together activists from all over the country to learn up to date information about the campaign, gain advocacy and campaigning skills, and hear from inspiring speakers and experts.

We’ve got a really exciting line-up of speakers:

  • Katy Athersuch, MSF Access Campaign - Katy used to be the Coordinator for the Student Stop AIDS Campaign, she is a font of knowledge and is doing incredible work at MSF challenging the rules that prevent universal access.
  • Sophie Strachan, Positively UK – Come and hear Sophie’s story or living with HIV and more about the situation within the UK
  • Siphiwe Hlophe, HIV activist from Swaziland
  • Sheila Gilmore MP - Sheila will be giving us some inside tips on how to lobby

We will also be watching a much anticipated new documentary about the incredible work of US based activist group ACT UP.

All accommodation and food is covered throughout the weekend, and £30 towards travel can be covered too. All we ask for is a £10 donation to help towards the costs of the weekend.

You can donate at: www.justgiving.com/nationalgathering13 a suggested £10.
