Zambia: Shaping National Policy & Practice

15 Jul 13

In Zambia, the Restless Team has recently achieved key milestones in its Shaping Policy and Practice work in both the national Youth and Education sectors. In April 2013, the agency was invited onto the Ministry of Youth & Sports National Technical Committee to help review Zambia’s National Youth Policy and Action Plan through nationwide Provincial Youth Consultations. More recently in early July 2013, Restless Development has also been included as a key partner to help the Zambian Ministry of Education implement its forthcoming revised HIV Strategy for 2013-17 (due to be finalised over the next 3 months). This will see the team continue its technical support to the Zambian Education Sector in piloting a new National HIV & Life Skills Monitoring Tool in order to conduct regular monitoring of HIV and AIDS programme activities in schools nationwide.

The agency has also been invited by the Zambian Civil Society Centre to share its policy advocacy work with the NGO Coordinating Council (NGOCC), in order to learn how the agency has successful engaged with national policy and decision makers.

Keep your eyes restless for the forthcoming Monitoring Tool Report in August 2013 and for news of other exciting activities conducted over April to June 2013 please read the Zambia Issue 2 Newsletter.
