KPMG has provided Restless Development with 13 technical placements so far this year as part of their first cross-border CSR programme, BRIGHT.
We have hosted these placements in India, Nepal, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia. We have 5 remaining placements that will be hosted in Sierra Leone and Uganda this month.
The response to the placements undertaken this year has been overwhelmingly positive for both Country Programmes and the KPMG BRIGHT participants.

Anneleen: “I had an incredible 2-weeks experience. The goal of my placement was to assist in setting up a private sector engagement strategy. Currently Restless Development India gets most of its funding via bilateral and multilateral support from different governments. As India is developing more and more, this support is not sustainable. Therefore I was asked to set up a strategy for private sector engagement, aimed at setting up long term partnerships with companies rather than one-time funding….These two weeks have been an incredible experience that I will never forget!”

Volunteers - Colin McAdam, Benjamin Lammens, Adam Paxton and Vasileios Papapostolou worked on finance, private sector engagement strategy and designing leadership training for managers.
