Ravindra Shakrya, the country director of Restless Development Nepal has been elected in the Steering Committee of Association of INGOs (AIN). The AIN is a consortium 100 INGOs working in Nepal and the elected steering committee serves as the board for 2 years. Restless Development Nepal has been member of AIN since 1999 and for the last 2 years has been actively involved in this group. Kaajal and Kate, two other members of the Nepal Office have also been involved in AIN’s ‘Peace and Youth Working Group’ and ‘Strategic Planning Group’ respectively.
AIN is the only consortium of INGOs in Nepal and therefore a great platform for Restless Development Nepal to work closely with the government and development partners. Ravindra was first elected in AIN in 2010 and helped develop a 5 year strategic plan which negotiated directly with Prime Minister regarding development policies and INGO issues. The current tenure for AIN steering committee is even more challenging because a fragile political situation, and therefore it will be good for Restless Development to lead some of these important issues with the high profile players in Nepal.
