what is the creative media group?
We are a group of young people that participate in interactive creative media workshops led by experts in the field. We formed in 2011 as a group of Restless Development volunteers eager to develop our creative media skills and now meet up in London on a number of Saturdays throughout the year for a free, fun filled day of creativity- keep an eye out for up and coming dates.
“It is difficult to find time for creativity in my busy day to day life. The creative media groups provides me with friendly, creative space in which to develop valuable media skills’ (CMG Member)
what do we do?
In our first few sessions we developed our skills in sound recording and editing, and telling stories through photography. In the last workshop we were joined by media experts from VSO and the BBC who helped us get creative with broadcast journalism. Having spent the morning getting to grips with the tools of the trade, we took to the streets to speak to the Westminster public. what we have planned
In our next few sessions we will continue developing our broadcast journalism skills- learning how to pitch, record and edit our own pieces of news. On 14th July we will joined by a Adam Lee, a Freelance Photojournalist, who will be facilitating a participatory photography workshop.
We are always on the look out for new people to get involved in the Creative Media Group. If you are interested in coming along and developing your creativity then email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
