Our patron and former Chairman of Tesco, David Reid, has been given a knighthood in the New Year Honours; one of only two knighthoods from the business sector this year.
Sir David joined Tesco in 1985 as Finance Director and took up the role of Chairman in 2004. Through his tenure he transformed the company from a domestic supermarket chain into a global retail brand. In 2004 he also joined up with Restless Development for the first time through an organised visit to Zambia. He was so inspired by the strategic HIV-prevention work that young Zambians were leading with the Ministry of Education that he pledged his support to the organisation and later took up a role as Patron.
Restless Development is honoured and privileged to have such an accomplished professional as one of its patrons and we are looking forward to working on projects with Sir David in the following months.
