In collaboration with the Sierra Leone Ministry of Employment Youth & Sport, our team in Sierra Leone trained 19 Regional & Districts Youth Officers from 14 districts across the country on Monitoring and Evaluation and Data Base Session Plans.
Addressing participants at the start of the four days intensive training. Monitoring and Evaluation Manager in Sierra Leone, James, said the training is to compliment government efforts by supporting the Ministry to formulate a monitoring and evaluation system for their use.
This will be used for the collection of comprehensive data as well as evaluation of all youth organistions across Sierra Leone. The training was designed to build the capacity of the ministry staff to understand key concepts and terminologies of monitoring and evaluation as well as programme implementation. James said.
“It is important to understand the various types of indicators to be captured, monitiored and evaluated, one of the gaps identified in the Ministry.”
Charles Moinina, Director at the Sierra Leone Ministry of Employment, Youth and Sport added:
