Someone wise once said that the key to success in life is “growing up without growing old”.
To that end, Restless Development celebrated its 25th birthday on 3rd March with the launch of a new 5 year strategy. Presented to friends, alumni and partners, the new strategy lays the foundations for a really exciting future. But as we enter our 26th year, our energy to engage young people to address the issues affecting their lives, communities and countries, is as fresh and dynamic as ever.
Eric Levine, the Chief Executive of Restless Development said: “Staff and young professionals across the organisation worldwide have contributed to the development of the new strategy. With this, Restless Development will be able to empower even more young people in the most underserved communities and bring their voice and knowledge to the highest corridors of power and policy.”
He added: “More than 50% of the world’s population is made up of young people and most of them live in developing countries where the percentage is often even higher. Only by realising their value, by engaging with them as an asset, will we resolve the issues that face them and the world.”
A heart-felt thank-you goes to all the Restless Development alumni from around the world, country directors past and present, partners and supporters old and new who made it such a memorable night.
