Ravindra Shakya, Country Director of Restless Development in Nepal has been asked to join the Association of International NGOs (AIN) Steering Committee, the governing body of AIN. Kaajal Pradhan, Partnerships Manager, was elected to lead the Youth and Peace Working Group, a consortium of organisations with specific interests in the intersection between young people and peace-building within Nepal.
AIN is a network of almost 100 international NGOs operating in Nepal founded in 1996 and Restless Development has been a member since 1999. The network aims to support practice sharing and collaboration among members, and also engages in advocacy around important development policy issues. Restless Development has been involved in AIN since the beginning and we have recently been stepping up our leadership role.
In addition to these ongoing leadership roles, Restless Development has played an important role in the recent strategic review process for AIN. Using our own experience in strategic planning, we helped lead the ground work, facilitated interactive sessions, and helped draft the new plan. This strategic plan will help guide the Association for the next several years as we work together to support development in Nepal.
