There are 1.8 billion young people in the world today, and an atomised approach to the challenges they face will fall short. We know that many young people are organising together to form networks and organisations leading the change they want to see in the world.
Restless Development aims to see not only individual young people, but also youth-led organisations and youth networks at the grassroots empowered to be agents and partners of development. We offer support to these groups to expand their capabilities through assessment, training, facilitated peer to peer sharing and learning, mentoring and advice, in an effort to strengthen the youth sector globally. In this way we have supported over 200 youth-led organisations world-wide to increase their impact and sustainability.
Snapshot: Training Workshops
The MTV Staying Alive Foundation fund innovative youth-led organisations focusing on HIV awareness and prevention programmes ranging from organisations such as Our Choice, in Thailand, to RuWCED in Cameroon. Since 2009, Restless Development has been working in partnership with the Foundation to train the grantee organisations to enhance the ability of individuals, organisations and the network as a whole to deliver high quality programmes which contribute to reducing new HIV infections and, in turn, to achieving an HIV-free generation.
The workshop was specialised, fun and very educative. It was very enlightening
